The Delegation of International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) headed by the Executive director Mr. David Cleave, has visited CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute. Guests got acquainted with the present status and ongoing activity on AREAL laser driven linear accelerator and DELTA laboratory two-photon microscopy and microfabrication stations. A special emphasis was given to current and future experimental programs on these facilities in the fields of life and materials sciences from various research and education institutions.
During the visit, the ISTC delegation has been informed about the AREAL project highlights program, which implies the energy increase up to 50 MeV with further beam delivery to ALPHA (Amplified Light Pulse for High-end Applications) and BETA (Booster for Emerging Technology Accelerators) stations. The ALPHA station is designated for THz Free Electron Laser, the BETA station is designated for advanced accelerator and radiation concepts. The high potential of presented projects for international cooperation has been claimed. Future objectives and cooperation opportunities between ISTC and CANDLE SRI have been discussed.
