On 06 November 2021 the delegation of Russian Academy of Sciences headed by its President Academician Alexander Sergeyev, as well as together with Academician Nikolai Makarov (RAS Vice-president), Academician Arutyun Avetisyan (Deputy President of RAS), Valeria Belyanina (Head of the Secretariat of RAS President) and Olga Glukhovtseva (Deputy Head of RAS Department of International Relations) had an official visit to CANDLE SRI. The delegation was accompanied by the Academician-secretary of the Division of Natural Sciences (NAS RA), Prof. Rouben Aroutiounian.
One of the main research interests of RAS President, Academician Alexander Sergeyev is the physics of femtosecond lasers, hence he was particularly interested in visiting CANDLE.
During the visit, members of the delegation were introduced the laboratories and experimental stations that are in full operation at CANDLE Institute. The Director of CANDLE SRI Bagrat Grigoryan spoke about all the possibilities that are proposed for a large-scale national and international communities of scientists, who are given unique opportunities to carry out advanced and leading experiments in the fields. As well as, the high importance of establishing and maintaining international collaboration has been highlighted.
To express his readiness to cooperate in future planned projects and international events the President of RAS, Academician Alexander Sergeyev presented the medal of “Russian Academy of Sciences” to CANDLE Institute. CANDLE team expressed its sincere gratitude for being honored by the visit of the delegation of Russian Academy of Sciences.
