Within the framework of the “Trajektoria” Astrophysical School which is being held from August 3-19 in Yerevan for Russian and Armenian high-school students, the participants of the school visited CANDLE SRI. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the history of the institute, the research activities of the laboratories of magnetic measurements, electron-scanning microscope, ultrahigh vacuum technologies, experimental biology, and others. The students also visited the AREAL electron accelerator complex and DELTA laboratory with the experimental stations of two-photon microscopy and microfabrication where they were introduced to the main working principles of lasers and accelerators.
The Astrophysical School is a project of the Trajectory Foundation for Scientific, Educational and Cultural Initiatives.
Its programs are aimed to stimulate an interest in science and scientific research, to implement scientific and educational programs in the field of natural sciences and humanities, to raise the intellectual level and creative potential of youngsters, and to involve them in the scientific and educational environment.
The first admission to the Astrophysical School took place in 2016, and the first graduation took place in 2019.
