Conventional CNC Manufacturing

Project Description:

CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute provides conventional subtractive manufacturing capabilities for the precision fabrication, modification, and finishing of mechanical components and experimental equipment. The available CNC machining infrastructure combines turning and milling operations, enabling the production of components from a wide range of engineering materials according to digital CAD models and technical drawings. The facility is equipped with a Haas ST-10 CNC turning center and a Haas TM-1P CNC vertical milling machine, providing complementary machining capabilities for rotational and prismatic components. The equipment supports precision cutting, drilling, boring, threading, facing, profiling, slotting, and other machining operations. These capabilities allow the Institute to manufacture prototypes, mechanical parts, fixtures, experimental components, vacuum-compatible components, and specialized laboratory equipment. The combination of CNC machining, engineering design, and precision metrology provides a complete workflow from component design and manufacturing to dimensional inspection and verification.
