CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute Continues to Foster Pupils’ Interest in Science

Recognizing the importance of regular engagement with school students, CANDLE SRI welcomed 11th-grade students and teachers from High School No. 42 named after T. Shevchenko on November 4.

During the visit, the Institute’s specialists introduced the students to the work of its laboratories and spoke about the specific aspects of scientific research, its practical significance, and the role such research centres play in the advancement of science.

The tour was accompanied by active discussions. The students listened attentively to the specialists and asked questions, seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the operation of scientific equipment, the nature of research activities, the professional path of a researcher, and the possibilities for new scientific discoveries.

Time spent in a laboratory environment, interaction with scientists, and exposure to their work serve as important incentives for young people in shaping their career aspirations and developing an interest in scientific research.
