NATO Advanced Research Workshop “BRITE” (Biomarkers of Radiation In The Environment): Robust tools for risk assessment” organized by the University of Salford (United Kingdom) and Institute of Molecular Biology NAS RA (Armenia) was held in Armenia on 28-30 November 2017.
More than 30 leading scientists from Europe, USA and Canada participated in the workshop. The program included also an invited talk on “Synchrotron Light Facilities and Applications in Life Sciences” by Prof. V. Tsakanov. An introduction to synchrotron light sources, experimental techniques, applications in life sciences and activities in Armenia was presented. The workshop participants had a scientific visit to CANDLE Institute. The guests were represented the laser driven AREAL and DELTA laboratories together with the experimental program conducted at the facilities. The highlights of upcoming projects at the institute were outlined.
