The opening ceremony of international DigiTec Expo technological exhibition, held from Sep. 29 to Oct. 01, 2017, Yerevan, was attended by President Serzh Sargsyan. After the opening ceremony the President had a tour through exhibition halls, visiting also the stand of CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute. The president got acquainted with the latest developments of AREAL project and the experimental program conducted at the facility. A special emphasis was given to AREAL upgrade program which aims to create the Infrared – THz Free Electron Laser using the long undulator magnet provided by DESY German accelerator center. The nearest plans for advancing the institute capabilities along with the latest achievements in the fields of accelerator and laser technologies, advanced materials and micro devices, precise control and diagnostic tools have been presented.
