CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute has upgraded its ultrafast laser infrastructure by installing a high-energy PHAROS femtosecond laser with Repetition Rate Locking, manufactured by Light Conversion, UAB and supplied by SIA ARMGATE. The acquisition was made possible through the “Grant for the selection of procurement proposals for scientific instruments/equipment aimed at equipping scientific centers with modern devices”, provided by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
The installation and commissioning were carried out on site by Light Conversion’s engineer Augustas Čepėnas, in collaboration with researchers from CANDLE SRI’s Photonic Beams and Optics Laboratory.
The PHAROS laser provides high pulse energy, enabling advanced ultrafast experiments.
The new PHAROS system becomes part of CANDLE’s modular ultrafast laser platform and operates alongside the main laser system of the AREAL linac. The availability of two synchronized high-performance laser sources significantly enhances operational flexibility, reliability, and experimental throughput.
The upgraded laser infrastructure will support ongoing and future research programs at the AREAL and DELTA laboratories, further strengthening CANDLE SRI’s position in the field of accelerator physics.
