Doors-Open Day at CANDLE SRI: Science and Light: Applications!
🎉 We are excited to invite you to an exclusive doors-open day event within the framework of the UNESCO “Day of Light” global initiative, which will be held on June 9, 2026. The event is dedicated to the great beneficiary, founder and first president of CANDLE SRI, Jirayr Hovnanyan! 🎉
If you are interested in advanced science and would like to learn what is happening in the institute’s laboratories, as well as take part in a series of exciting experiments, this is your opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of science, explore our innovative laboratories, and participate in accessible scientific demonstrations.

During the event, we are also organizing a photo story contest titled “Science and Light: Applications”, aimed at encouraging creative minds to explore the fascinating world of light and science. So don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your creativity and knowledge through a photo story.
📅 Contest Details:
- Age group: School students aged 12–17
- Theme: “Science and Light: Applications”
- Photo story: Up to 10 photos
- Submission deadline: May 29, 2026.
🎥 How to Participate:
Present a story using up to 10 photos based on the contest theme.
Send your photos to info@asls.candle.am, indicating your name, surname, school, and age. Please write “Day of Light 2026” in the subject line of your email.
The results will be announced on June 9, 2026, during the event. Three prize-winning places will be awarded. An additional prize will be awarded to the school that demonstrates the highest level of participation.
