Within the framework of the 10-28/22Eq-1 contract funded by the “Competition for the provision of financial support for the modernization of the infrastructure, material and technical base in the field of science” organized by the Committee of Higher Education and Science, CANDLE SRI purchased a high-precision 3D printer for metal powders.
The Desktop Metal Studio System-2 3D metal powder printer is a fundamentally new approach to the processing of prototypes and details. It enables the preparation of fine details with complex geometry, which cannot be realized using machine tools. This system also reduces the preparation cost and labor time.
The equipment will allow CANDLE to carry out new research in the field of development of accelerator technology by obtaining and using machine parts with fairly small overall dimensions, such as waveguides in the TeraHertz range, converters, resonators, antennas (receivers), etc.
