CANDLE SRI and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) Scientists Group Visited “Aragats” Cosmic Rays Station of Yerevan Physics Institute

On September 7, CANDLE SRI hosted Oleg Belov and Kseniya Belokopitova from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. During the visit, joint scientific experiments were implemented at the institute and an agreement was reached to carry out joint scientific experiments using the AREAL accelerator, as well as to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement.

On September 15, the guests along with CANDLE SRI colleagues visited Cosmic Rays Station of  National Scientific Laboratory named after Alikhanyan located in Aragats mountain at an altitude of 3200 m. The head of the Cosmic Rays Division, prof. Ashot Chilingaryan presented the large electromagnetic spectrometers and other recording equipment installed in the station, which make it possible to investigate the nature of various elementary particles included in the composition of cosmic rays and their interaction with various materials.
